• W20242693 abstract "We are delighted that this year the number of full paper submissions has been the highest for a number of years, with 104 full papers submitted, of which 24 were accepted, and 56 short papers from which 25 were accepted. As usual, papers were put through a rigorous process, so the papers forming this volume are of the highest quality.We have introduced several innovations this year to keep the conference programme moving forward and to expand this research community. The first is that we decided to 'practice what we preach' by inviting papers to be submitted as hypertexts. We are pleased to bring you two successful submissions.We also introduced the notion of themes with corresponding theme chairs on the programme committee. These specialist chairs had a special responsibility to solicit papers in their theme areas, to oversee the reviewing and represent the themes at the programme committee meeting. This approach enables us to target areas of research where we feel good hypertext work has been occurring but which hasn't so far been reported into this conference. The new themes were selected in discussion with the conference sponsor, SIGWEB, so that they can be developed over several conferences. We have also maintained the conference's proud tradition of multidisciplinarity, from literary hypertext through to physical-digital linking. We extend our thanks to the theme chairs for participating in this experiment and for all their hard work, and we hope that future conferences will be able to build on this year's success.Another experiment was our trial of a review process where papers submitted to the first, early round of full paper submissions were given feedback on their paper and the chance to revise it and resubmit it to the second, final round of submissions-this was designed especially to support newcomers to the field. We have had many authors (and reviewers) giving us positive feedback about this rolling process so we feel that it has been a great success.Finally we have provided strong encouragement for short papers, posters and demonstrations, as these are important mechanisms for bringing exciting new work to the attention of the community and to support new research and new researchers. We hope you will enjoy this insight into the latest research and results.Critical to the process for all forms of submissions was the small army of reviewers who put in a great deal of effort into providing useful and constructive feedback for authors.
