- W2024656511 abstract "Journal of Chinese PhilosophyVolume 21, Issue 3-4 p. 303-335 THE FORMATION OF NEW LIXUE - FENG YOULAN AND NEW REALISM Azuma Juji, Azuma Juji Professor Azuma Jũji teaches at Kansai University, Japan. His paper offered at the conference was one of the most thoroughly researched and documented. With consideration to space, the greater part of Professor Azuma's insightful paper is presented here. In some instances, the Editor has paraphrased and summarized parts of Professor Azuma's paper and, in a few places, added in some material from Professor Azuma's abstract. The Endnotes are by and large those of Azuma himself, whose style is to give the title of one of Feng Youlan's writings, a chapter's number and, sometimes, that chapter's title or the title of a section within a chapter, but no specific page reference. Professor Azuma presented his paper in Chinese at the conference. A Japanese version of his paper with the same title may be found in Kansai Daigaku Chugoku Bungakkai Kiyō 12 (1991), pp. 92–128. Special thanks are here extended to Ms. Tham Waifong, Librarian, National University of Singapore, for her assistance in researching proper romanization of Japanese names in this essay.-editorSearch for more papers by this author Azuma Juji, Azuma Juji Professor Azuma Jũji teaches at Kansai University, Japan.
