The density dependence of ${ensuremath{mu}}_{0}$ is compared to that predicted by the deformation potential theory of Basak and Cohen; ${ensuremath{mu}}_{0}$ is maximum at (13.7ifmmodepmelsetextpmfi{}0.4)ifmmodetimeselsetexttimesfi{}${10}^{27}$ molecules/${mathrm{m}}^{3}$. Scattering lengths were calculated for both liquid Kr and Xe, and their density dependence was examined using the recent model of Baird [Phys. Rev. A 32, 1235 (1985)]. At higher fields, ensuremath{mu} is field dependent. The effect of density on the field dependence is examined." @default.
