- W2025236449 abstract "The electron impact rovibrational excitation of HCl and HF has been measured in absolute units in the energy range from 0.15 eV to 5.5 eV and in the angular range from 15° to 135°. Rather strong simultaneous rotational and vibrational (Δv = 1) excitations have been observed in the threshold peaks with nonisotropic angular distributions. These results indicate that the simple picture of the virtual-state model for the threshold structures has to be improved. Since we have not found any structure in the vibrational elastic channel energetically below the cusp of the v = 1 channel, the nuclear-excited Feshbach resonance model of Gauyacq and Herzenberg seems not to be applicable to the threshold structure in HCl and HF." @default.
