- W2027858994 abstract "On series of (Fe 0.65 Ni 0.35 ) 1− x Mn x and (Fe 0.65 Ni 0.35 ) 1− x Cu x alloys varying x in steps of about 1 at% and starting from “pure” invar we performed conductivity measurements in the temperature range between 4 and 280 K. These are completed by measurements of the maximum spontaneous magnetization versus concentration. Whereas the conductivity is decreased monotonically by adding Mn just the opposite effect is observed with alloying Cu. In the case of Mn the Curie temperature decreases and the alloy system is exhibiting the re-entrant spin glass phenomenon, provided that the Mn concentration exceeds a critical value [1]. Alloying Cu, the conductivity is increasing and the Curie temperature starts to increase slightly [2]. In a supplementary investigation we performed measurements of the thermal expansion on both alloy systems using a novel method. Additional local measurements by the Mössbauer effect on 57 Fe nuclei exhibit the very different influences of Mn and Cu on the invar properties." @default.
