Kata kunci: Keselarasan, dunia pekerjaan, maskulin, femininThis descriptive and ex–post facto study was conducted to identify the profile and career congruence of the teachers and police officers who are working in the district of Petaling. This study was conducted at two organizations, a police department that represented the masculine world of work and schools that represented the feminine world of work. The subjects of this study were 100 police officers and 155 teachers who were selected using the simple random sampling. The instrument used in this study was the Vocational Preference Inventory (VPI), which was translated by Sidek Mohd Noah (1996) using the back translation technique. The data was then analysed using descriptive statistics (mean, frequency, percentage, ranking) and inferential statistic namely Kendall’s Coefficient of Concordance (W). Compatibility Index (CI) was used to measure the degree of congruency between the personality and work environment. The findings show that 87.75% of those who are in teaching line are feminine and 12.25% are masculine. As for the police, officers only 30.1% of them have masculine characteristics, while 69.1% of them show feminine characteristics. The findings also show that there is a significant congruence between personality and working environments among teachers and police officers. Based on the research findings, several implications and recommendations were put forward.Key words: Congruence, world of work, masculine, feminine" @default.
