- W2028941008 abstract "Abstract The effect of Cu and Cu–Ti additions on the microstructures and magnetic properties of Nd 2 Fe 14 B–α-Fe nanocomposite magnets prepared by melt spinning have been investigated. The results show that Cu can form clusters serving as heterogeneous nucleation sites for α-Fe phase to enhance its nucleation kinetics. But in the ribbons with a combined Cu and Ti additions, the crystallization temperature is increased and a metastable hexagonal phase with TbCu 7 -type structure is formed prior to the α-Fe and Nd 2 Fe 14 B phase. With increasing the annealing temperature, the metastable 1:7 phase is decomposed into the α-Fe and Nd 2 Fe 14 B phases, which is propitious to form the more uniform microstructure with fine, soft α-Fe grains. When the contents of Cu and Ti reach 1.0 and 0.5 at.% respectively, the optimal magnetic properties i H c =4.8 kOe, σ r =110 emu/g, (BH) max =15 MGOe were obtained after annealing at a temperature of 650 °C for 8 min." @default.
