The broadening of the Landau levels is described within the path-integral approach for smooth Gaussian disorder. The interlayer asymmetry of the disorder potential is taken into account. The tunnel-induced hybridization of the electron states is described by the tight-binding tunneling Hamiltonian. A self-consistent approach is used to describe the screening, which has a significant influence on the thermodynamic quantities. The calculations demonstrate that the magnetic-field dependence of each of the thermodynamic quantities allows to detect the tunneling gap in the density of states." @default.
