- W2029054966 abstract "Fibromatosis is a fibroblastic proliferation of the cells that arise from the musculoaponeurotic tissues of the body. They are divided broadly into the infantile or juvenile fibromatosis and adult fibromatosis. The former category includes such lesions as solitary fibromatosis (infantile myofibromatosis) and juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma. Myofibromatosis is considered the most frequently occurring fibromatosis in infancy, although only approximately 200 cases have been reported. A 13-year-old girl was referred to our Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery because of a recurrent neck mass. She underwent surgery 18 months ago to remove a mass reported as a lipoma. At presentation, she had a hard, rubbery mass in the left carotid triangle, extending to the submandibular triangle and the parotid region with irregular margins. She had also a pale smooth growth on the left tonsillar area. She exhibited slight limitation of neck movement. A surgical scar extending from the midline to the posterior border of the left sternocleidomastoid muscle was also visible. http://www.entnet.org/journal/casereports/OTO-09.pdf/" @default.
