- W2029208710 abstract "The quantity of liquid emerging as droplets entrained in superheated vapour at a serpentine evaporator exit is reported. Experiments were conducted under widely varying conditions representative of current and anticipated domestic refrigerator operation using oil-free R134a. A fractional factorial matrix was used to investigate the effects of exit superheat, inlet quality and heat and mass flux on the entrained mass fraction (Ef) at the exit. Droplet measurements were made with a laser-based phase/Doppler particle analyser. Time-averaged Ef varied with operating conditions by several orders of magnitude, decreasing with increasing superheat level (due to lower entrainment rates near the exit and more rapid droplet vaporization) and mass flux and inlet quality (due to reduced slug formation near the evaporator inlet). the occurrence of slug flow caused substantial variations in Ef superheat and operating pressure with time, even under nominally steady-state conditions. On a effectué des expériences sous des conditions très variables représentant le fonctionnement des refrigérateurs doméstiques, dans des conditions actuelles et envisagées, avec du R134a sans huile. On s'est servi d'une matrice fractionnaire, afin d'etudier les effets de la surchauffe à la sortie, de la composition à l'entrée, ainsi que des flux thermique et massique, sur la fraction massique entrainée (Ef) à la sortie. Les mesures des gouttelettes on été effectuées avec un anlyseur de particules Doppler à phase laser (P/DPA). La valeur moyenne d'Ef dans le temps a varié de plusieurs ordres de grandeur, en fonction des conditions d'exploitation: elle a été d'autant plus faible qu'ont été importants le niveau de la surchauffe (en raison d'un entrainement plus bas près de la sortie et d'une vaporisation des gouttelettes plus rapide). le flux massique et la composition à l'entrée (en raison de la formation moins importante de bouchons de liquide près de l'entrée de l'evaporateur). La formation ene bouchons a finalement provoqué des variation sensibles d'Ef, de la surchauffe et de la pression de fonctionnement, même en régime permanent normal." @default.
