- W2029387215 abstract "Infrared spectra have been recorded for CHD2GeH3 and CH3GeHD2 at a resolution of 0.06 cm−1. The K structure of four perpendicular-type bands of the former, and one of the latter species, were analysed to give A0 − B0 = 1.2252 (8) and 1.2511 (18) cm−1 respectively. These data are used in conjunction with earlier microwave results to obtain a new ground state geometry for methyl germane: r0CH = 1.0921, r0GeH = 1.5285, r0GeC = 1.9490 Å, ∠HCH = 108.84o, ∠HGeH = 108.78o, whose r0 CH and ∠HCH values are in good agreement with those predicted from “isolated” CH stretching frequencies. The geometries of Me2GeH2, Me3GeH, EtGeH3, CH3GeH2F, CH3GeH2Cl and GeH3CH2Cl are examined critically. The correlation between νisGeH and r0 GeH is improved by a revised r0 GeH for Me3GeH, but CH3GeH2Cl constitutes a further anomaly. Trends in GeC and GeX distances are similar to those of CC and CX." @default.
