Estudos sugerem associação da doença celíaca com outras patologias autoimunes, mais frequentemente diabetes mellitus tipo 1, tiroidite autoimune, hepatite autoimune e síndrome de Sjögren. Estão descritos 12 casos de associação de doença celíaca e púrpura trombocitopénica imune. Relata‐se o caso de uma doente de 24 anos com doença celíaca desde a infância a quem foi diagnosticada púrpura trombocitopénica imune, coincidente com a reintrodução de glúten na dieta, sugerindo a existência de um mecanismo imune comum. Celiac disease is a relatively common, chronic autoimmune disease, triggered by the environment (gliadin, a gluten compound) in a genetically predisposed patient. Some case reports and small series describe the association between celiac disease and others autoimmune disorders, mainly type 1 diabetes mellitus, autoimmune thyroiditis, autoimmune hepatitis and Sjögren syndrome. In the literature, there are 12 reports of an association between celiac disease e immune thrombocytopenic purpura. We report a case of a 24‐years‐old woman with celiac disease since childhood, which developed immune thrombocytopenic purpura with the reintroduction of a gluten diet. We propose that the coexistence of these two disorders suggests a common immune mechanism." @default.
