- W2029714730 abstract "Using the highly sensitive technique of double resonance with coupled multiplets at 77 K and room temperature, 17O double-resonance signals were detected from the OH− ion in a number of the hydroxides of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals and some of their monohydrates at natural abundance. 2H double-resonance signals were detected using double resonance by level crossing in partially deuterated analogs. A 17O1H dipolar fine structure was resolved for the 17O site in the hydroxide ion; the 17O electric field gradient was determined to be cylindrically symmetrical along the OH bond with the 17O quadrupole coupling constant ranging from −6055 kHz for Ba(OH)2 to −7590 kHz for NaOH and nearly zero asymmetry parameter. The correlation between the 17O and 2H quadrupole coupling constants and the OH− stretching frequency is discussed." @default.
