- W2029748174 abstract "This paper presents a detailed model to study the dielectric barrier discharge effects from the point of view of a high voltage engineer who intends to improve the insulation performance, with taking into consideration plasma chemistry related to Oxygen, including volumetric and surface reactions, the electron and heavy species transport physics. The simulations were carried out for the dielectric barrier as coating on electrodes. The electron conservation was modeled by the electron number density continuity equation using the driftdiffusion approximation. The analogous equation was applied for electron energy conservation. For diffusive transport modeling of heavy particles (including ions, excited atoms and molecules and ground state atoms and molecules), the mixture-averaged evaluation was formulated. The model is based upon a simultaneous solution of all foregoing equations together with the Poisson's equation. The simulation results for applying a standard lightning impulse voltage were presented and discussed." @default.
