The simulated TEYs at different energies are very close to the experimental values, and the ratio of TEYs at the X-ray energies of 3370 and 3340 eV also agrees with the measured one. The secondary electrons contribute ∼65% to all emitted electrons; while ∼30% is due to the widely distributed energy-loss background for inelastic scattered electrons. X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) spectrum in TEYs simulated on the basis of a Monte Carlo method reproduces the measured spectrum with considerable success.
