Standing height, arm-span, forearm and ulnar-segment measurements were taken of 116 normal children without contractures. Measurement of the forearm segment had the highest correlation with standing height, but it requires a special ruler. ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Bestimmung der Körpergröße bei Patienten mit neuromuskulärer Erkrankung und Kontrakturen Patienten mir neuromuskulären Erkrankungen haben häufig Gelenkkontrakturen, die eine Größenbestimmung im Stehen ausschließen. Bei 116 gesunden Kindern ohne Kontrakturen wurden Länge, Armspanne, Unterarm und Ulnasegment gemessen. Die beste Korrelation bestand zwischen Unterarmlänge und Körpergröße, aber man braucht dazu ein Speziallineal. Die Armspanne zeigte eine gute Korrelation zur stehend gemessenen Körpergröße, sie kann aber bei Ellenbogen- und Schulterkontrakturen nicht verwendet werden. Bei diesen Patienten kann man die Messung des Ulnasegmentes heranziehen, das allerdings die geringstre Korrelation zur Körpergröße aufweist. RESUMEN Estatura de pacientes con enfermedad neuromuscular y contracturas Los pacientes con enfermedades neuromusculares tienen con frecuencia contracturas a nivel de las articulaciones que dificultan la medición de la estatura en bipedestación. Se midió la estatura en bipedestación, la envergadura de brazos y del antebrazo y segmento cubital en 116 niños normales sin contracturas. La longitud del antebrazo tenia la más alta correlación con la estatura en bipedestación, pero requiere una regla especial. La envergadura tenía una buena correlación con la estatura de pie, si bien no puede ser usada si hay contracturas en codo o hombro. En estos pacientes puede ser usada si hay contracturas en codo o hombro.
