- W2030324955 abstract "The linear stability of an electrified viscoelastic liquid sheet injected into a dielectric stationary ambient gas in the presence of a transverse electric field has been analyzed. The sinuous and varicose mode disturbance wave growth rates have been worked out by solving the dispersion relation of the electrified viscoelastic liquid sheet, which was obtained by combining the linear instability model of an electrified Newtonian liquid sheet with the linear viscoelastic model. The maximum growth rate and corresponding dominant wave numbers have been obtained. The electrical Euler number, rheological parameters, and some flow parameters have been tested for their influence on the instability of the electrified viscoelastic liquid sheet. The results show that the electrified Newtonian liquid sheet is more unstable than the Newtonian liquid sheet. Similarly, the electrified viscoelastic liquid sheet is more unstable than the electrified Newtonian one. The ratio of gas-to-liquid density and the electrical Euler number can accelerate the breakup of electrified viscoelastic liquid sheet for both modes, while the time constant ratio, the ratio of distance between horizontal electrodes, and the liquid sheet-to-sheet thickness have the opposite effects. The increase of elasticity number has a minimal effect on the instability. High Reynolds number and Weber number accelerate the breakup of the electrified viscoelastic liquid sheet." @default.
