The effects of concentration of ethylthioglycolate, concentration of Co(II), buffer capacity, pH and height of the mercury column on the characteristics of the wave have been studied. The height of the catalytic wave is independent of mercury pressure, although it varies linearly with the concentration of ETG. The wave can therefore be successfully utilized for the quantitative determination of ETG. L'éthylthioglycolate (ETG) dans une solution ammoniacale de chlorure cobalteux donne naissance à une vague catalytique d'hydrogène. Les influences de la concentration en éthylthioglycolate et en Co(II), de la capacité du tampon, du pH et du poids de la colonne de mercure sur les caractéristiques de cette vague sont étudiées. La hauteur de la vague catalytique est indépendante de la pression du mercure, bien qu'elle varie linéairement avec la concentration en ETG. Elle peut donc être utilisée à la determination quantitative de l'ETG. Aethylthioglykolat (AeTG) in ammoniakalischer Kobaltchloridlösung bewirkt eine Vergrösserung der katalytischen Wasserstoffwelle. Es wurden die Einflüsse der Konzentrationen von Aethylthioglykolat und von Co(II), der Pufferkapazität, des pH und der Höhe der Hg-Säule auf die Charakteristika der Welle untersucht. Man fand, dass die Höhe der katalytischen Welle unabhängig vom Hg-Druck ist, wogegen sie sich linear mit der AeTG-Konzentration ändert. Die katalytische Welle kann deshalb mit Erfolg zur quantitativen Bestimmung von AeTG benutzt werden." @default.
