The pore sizes and pore spacings in the arrays can be easily tuned by etching polystyrene colloidal monolayer. The obtained Ni nanostructured ordered porous arrays exhibit significantly higher coercive force, remnant magnetism than those of the continuous films without pores, and dependence on the pore size. These were attributed to structural anisotropy and damage of continuity of the films. We can thus tune magnetic properties of the film by introduction of pores with controlled pore size and spacing, which should be useful in the next generation of nanostructured devices such as sensing, data storage, etc." @default.
