- W2032832110 abstract "Abstract Monte Carlo computer simulations have been employed to investigate 2D time-dependent nucleation and growth. The nearest neighbour distances of the nuclei were used to examine the final spatial distribution of the nuclei. It was found that the nearest neighbour distances were larger than those of the uniform Poisson distribution. As the power of time in the nucleation function decreases, a more uniform distribution of the nuclei becomes apparent. The effectiveness of the nuclei in terms of surface coverage demonstrated that those nuclei that appear early in the potentiostatic transient are more effective in covering the surface than the nuclei that form later. The statistical fluctuations in the maximum currents for instantaneous, progressive and time-dependent nucleation demonstrated that the differences were largest between instantaneous and progressive nucleation, and very small between various time-dependent nucleation functions." @default.
