- W2034184717 abstract "The QR0(10) A+ infrared transition of methyl alcohol in the CO stretching band, which is the pumping transition for several far-infrared (FIR) laser lines, has been investigated by laser-microwave double resonance, using the 9.4 P(16) CO2 laser line. Collisional transfer of the laser-induced population depletion of the ground state 100 A+ level to the 101 A− and 111 A+ levels was detected as an increase of about 5% in the absorption intensities of the 101 ← 92 A− and 111 ← 102 A+ ground state microwave lines, which were monitored in a standard microwave Stark cell. In contrast, the intensity of the 92 ← 101 A+ transition decreased by about −1% with laser pumping. These observations support the reported assignment of this infrared CH3OH FIR laser pumping transition, and give further confirmation of the predominance of dipolar selection rules for collision-induced transitions in CH3OH." @default.
