From 1960–66, the research was jointly supported by a grant (MH–01091) from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the Veterans Administration (VA); it is now mainly supported by the VA, but in part by a grant from the National Association for Mental Health. RAD is supported by a Research Scientist Award (K3–MH–2504–06) awarded by the NIMH. The experimental work was done in the Neuropsychiatric Laboratory of the North Little Rock VA Hospital. Dr. Murphree is director of the laboratory and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, UAMC. We wish to express our appreciation to Dr. William G. Reese, Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry, UAMC, who supported our research. We also wish to acknowledge the statistical data processing done for us by the Biometry-Computer Department of the UAMC, whose work is supported by NIH Grant FR–00208–04.
