Une évolution du CO 2 et un test de disparition du carbone organique dissous (DOC) ont été utilisés afin de déterminer la capacité de décomposition naturelle d'une litière végétale de Ctenanthe lubbersiana ayant poussé sous CO 2 ambiant (340 ppm) et élevé (610 ppm). L'évolution du CO 2 de la litière de feuille, au cours d'une expérience de décomposition de 10 jours, est retardée de 7% (P=0.046). Dans le test de disparition du DOC, la décomposition d'un extrait de litière de feuille à l'eau chaude est retardée de 8% (P=0.039).
