- W2034376314 abstract "Geotectonics deals with the earth's crust as the dynamic system, formed as a result of a rather slow process, which may be formally subdivided into three stages: pre-geosynclinal, geosynclinal and post-geosynclinal. The oceanic type crust (basaltic layer) is formed during the pre-geosynclinal stage; the continental type crust (granitic-metamorphic layer) is formed during the geosynclinal stage. The geosynclinal process is the process of formation of the graniticmetamorphic layer, leading to transformation of the oceanic crust into a continental crust. This process is realized within the geosynclines and is a reflection of the differentiation of matter within the earth's upper mantle. The geosynclinal system (geosyncline) is the aggregate of alternating rises (elementary geanticlines) and saggings (elementary geosynclines), within which the geosynclinal process is realized. The geosynclinal theory deals only with the geosynclinal stage of the earth's crust development. The important principles of the theory are: (1) the presence of the geosyncline (geosynclinal system); (2) mobility; (3) the inner sources of geosynclinal deposits; (4) large gradients of the deposit of thickness variation; (5) folding (orogeny); and (6) increment to continent (consolidation)." @default.
