It was found appropriate to use CM-celluloses in the range 0.8 < degree of substitution (DS) < 1.0. In this range the investigated CM-celluloses rank the enzymic activity in the same order. Conversion factors of enzymic activity from one CM-cellulose to another can thus be calculated. However, a unique relation between these factors and the DS and degree of polymerization (DP) values of the substrates is obscured by some unknown structural characteristic of the substrates." @default.
