- W2034698059 abstract "Hydrogen dioxide, H2O2, is an electrochemically active species and involved in many enzymatic reactions. Therefore, detection of H2O2 is often used to quantify H2O2 generated analyte in an enzymatic reaction for biosensing application. Platinum based catalysts are usually employed enhancing the oxidation of H2O2 resulting in an improved biosensor. In this study, platinum based bimetallic catalysts including PtRh, PtPd, PtCu, and PtNi were examined for their sensitivity, selectivity to H2O2 detection. Interference by ascorbic acid and uric acid at concentration of 15 mg/L and 85 mg/L, the highest physiological level, were investigated, respectively. Preparation and characterization of these bimetallic catalysts were undertaken including TEM and XRD studies. The electrochemical detections of H2O2 by these bimetallic catalysts were assessed. Experimental results would aid in the advancement of bimetallic Pt based catalysts for H2O2 detection in biosensing applications. Among these bimetallic catalysts, PtRh exhibited an enhanced sensitivity of 839.9 μA mM−1 cm−2 (R2 = 0.998) with a low 0.86% deviation in the presence of the AA and UA." @default.
