- W2034795894 abstract "This paper presents a new control method for the Hybrid Active Power Filter (HAPF). HAPFs are composed of passive and active elements and proved to be an attractive solution to mitigate harmonic pollution. They are smaller and less expensive than Active Power Filters (APF), and on the other hand, do not have the well-known drawbacks associated with Passive Power Filters (PPF). Among various topologies proposed for HAPF, the one with series combination of active and passive elements in parallel with the load is more common and is considered in this paper. In the proposed control method, the instantaneous active and reactive power theory is used to define a cost function such that the ripple in the instantaneous active and reactive powers is minimized. In doing so, the switching states of the converter are directly determined based on Finite State Predictive Control (FSPC) method. Thus, there is no need to conventional multi-loop or complicated control strategies. Experimental results obtained from a laboratory type setup show the validity of the proposed method." @default.
