- W2035285469 abstract "The study of differentials in morbidity has received relatively concentrated attention in epidemiological research. However, many results were found inconclusive in delineating the causal relationship between disease and etiological factors. The present study attempts to demonstrate, using a variety of socioeconomic and demographic indicators, the possible differentials in selected work-limiting chronic conditions which were prevalent in a significant proportion of the U.S. population. The analysis is based upon data collected in the national Survey of Economic Opportunity in 1967. The evidence indicates that sharp differences were found for white vs Negro, the married vs the not married, the young vs the old, high vs low SES persons, urban vs rural residents, migrants vs nonmigrants, etc. These findings may in part reveal the potential contributions of social epidemiological studies in the understanding of sociopathogenic factors in illness." @default.
