- W2035748092 abstract "The infrared and Raman spectra were studied for polycrystalline TlNO3 in the modifications γ-D or C, β-C, and α-O. The site group and factor group analysis of the NO−3 anion, own symmetry D3h, was carried out for the space groups considered. The following site groups are possible for the various modifications: D—Cs or C1, C—C1, C—Cs or C3v or C3v + C3, and O—Oh. The γ and β modifications do not differ spectroscopically, all the four normal vibrations are active and the degenerate E′ type vibration splits to two active vibrations in all the site groups in question, from which the site group Cs follows for the β modification. In the case of the α modification — in accordance with the site group analysis — this splitting does not take place and the ν1 vibration is absent from the IR spectrum, the ν2 vibration from the Raman spectrum. In the IR spectrum, the combination ν1 + ν4 frequencies were identified in the 1750 cm−1 range for all the modifications, the ν1 + ν3 frequency for the γ modification near 2400 cm−1; the 2 ν2 overtone was found in the Raman spectrum at 1640 cm−1 for all the modifications. @default.
