- W2036413392 abstract "Abstract There is no information on the relationships between progesterone and plasma glucose, inorganic phosphorus or glutamic enzymes in the buffalo. Progesterone coils (PRIDs) affected these plasma constituents in 16 anoestrous buffalo heifers when comparing blood samples taken just before PRID insertion with those at eight days after coil insertion, and at the day of post-treatment oestrus. Progesterone, in addition to its major actions, has a pronounced influence on the way in which glucose, GOT and GLDH are produced and utilized by tissues. While other undetermined biochemical factors may operate, the levels of plasma inorganic phosphorous could play a primary key role in the regulation of oestrus onset in buffaloes." @default.
