In ammonia CI mass spectrometry of both derivatives, the ion at m/e (M + 1)+ or (M + 18)+ was recorded as the base peak. Thesyn andanti isomers of prostaglandin A and E series could be distinguished from each other by a characteristic ion, which was produced by the loss of trimethylsilanol from m/e (M + 1)+. The α and β isomers of prostaglandin F series could also be discriminated from each other by comparing the intensities of the characteristic ions from sequential loss of trimethylsilanols from m/e (M + 1)+ and (M + 18)+." @default.
