- W2037421938 abstract "The flexure technique was used to characterize the development of stresses during the gaseous oxidation of tantalum in the temperature range 350–550°C and of niobium at 400 and 425°C. Bending stresses in the rectangular specimens were calculated and their presence rationalized on the basis of surface stresses due to both oxygen solution and oxide film effects. In the early stages of oxidation, stresses of the order of the yield stress arise in the surface layers due to the solution of oxygen into the metal. At some later time, as thicker oxide layers develop, film stresses substantially control the gross flexure behavior. La technique de pliage a été utilisée pour caractériser le développement de tensions lors de l'oxydation par les gaz du tantale dans un domaine de température de 350° à 550°C et du niobium entre 400 et 425°C. Les tensions de pliage sur des échantillons rectangulaires ont été calculées et leur présence interprêtée sur la base des tensions de surface due à l'oxygène en solution et aux effets du film d'oxyde. Dans les premiers stades d'oxydation des tensions de l'ordre de la limite élastique, dues à la dissolution de l'oxygène dans le métal, ont lieu dans les couches de surface. Quelques temps plus tard, comme le film d'oxyde se développe, des tensions du film contrôlent le comportement au pliage. Mit Hilfe der Biegetechnik wurde die Ausbildung von Spannungen während der gasförmigen Oxydation von Tantal im Temperaturbereich 350–550°C und von Niob bei 400 und 425°C untersucht. Die Biegespannungen in den rechtwinkligen Proben wurden berechnet. Ihr Auftreten wurde erklärt auf Grund von Oberflächenspannungen durch Sauerstofflösung und Oxydschichten. In den Anfangsstadien der Oxydation entstehen in den Oberflächenschichten Spannungen von der Gröβenordnung der Flieβspannung durch Lösung von Sauerstoff im Metall. Etwas später, bei der Ausbildung dickerer Oxydschichten, bestimmen die Spannungen der Oberflächenschichten im wesentlichen das Biegeverhalten." @default.
