- W2038109651 abstract "A computer simulation of grain growth in two dimensions has been used to model microstructural evolution in thin films. In a companion paper we have simulated the stagnation of grain-growth due to grain-boundary grooving at the free surface of the film. In this paper we model the effect of driving force variations (due to variations of the free-surface energy among different crystals) on the origination and propagation of abnormal or secondary grain growth. The simulation produces an estimate for the magnitude of the driving force which is required to produce abnormal grain growth. The simulation also indicates that a key requirement for classic abnormal grain growth behavior is that a majority of the grains have free-surface energies which differ very little from each other. Pour modéliser l'évolution microstructurale des films minces, nous avons simulé sur ordinateur la croissance bidimensionnelle des grains. Dans un article précédent, nous avions simulé l'arrêt de la croissance des grains par le gravage des joints de grains à la surface libre du film. Dans cet article, nous présentons une modélisation de l'effet de variations de la force motrice (dues aux variations de l'énergie de la surface libre pour différents cristaux) sur l'initiation et la propagation de la croissance anormale ou secondaire des grains. Ces simulations fournissent une estimation de la valeur de la force motrice nécessaire pour produire une croissance de grains anormale. Elles indiquent également que la condition première pour une croissance de grains anormale classique est qu'une majorité de grains présentent des énergies de surface libre qui diffèrent très peu les unes des autres. Die Entwicklung der Mikrostruktur von dünnen Filmen wird mit einer Computer-simulation des Kornwachstums in zwei Dimensionen modelliert. In einer begleitenden Arbeit haben wird die Stagnation des Kornwachstums, hervorgerufen durch Grubenbildung an der freien Oberfläche des Filmes, simuliert. In dieser Arbeit modellieren wir den Einfluß von Veränderungen in der treibenden Kraft (hervorgerufen von Unterschieden in der freien Oberflächenenergie der verschiedenen Kristallite) auf Beginn und Ausbreitung abnormen oder sekundären Kornwachstums. Die Simulation ergibt eine Abschätzung für die für das Auftreten des abnormen Kornwachstums benötigte Höhe der treibenden Kraft. Die Simulation weist außerdem darauf hin, daß ein Schlüsselerfordernis für das klassische abnorme Kornwachstum ist, daß die Mehrzahl der Körner nur wenig voneinander verschiedene freie Oberflächenenergie besitzen." @default.
