Chez ces bactéries, la photoproduction d'H2 est associée en majeure partie ou même totalement à l'action de la nitrogénase. Les hydrogénases soluble et membranaire de T. roseopersicina possèdent des propriétés physico-chimiques similaires (poids moléculaire, composition en sous-unités, acides aminés N-terminaux, teneur en Fe2+ et S2−, pI, Eo'). Comparée à d'autres hydrogénases, l'enzyme de R. rubrum et de T. roseopersicina dégage de l'H2 en quantité importante à partir du cytochrome c3 réduit, mais non à partir des ferredoxines. La production d'H2 et la fixation de N2 ont lieu en présence de NAD(P)H. La NADP-réductase, la ferredoxine et le cytochrome c3 sont impliqués dans cette réaction. Les relations possibles entre l'hydrogénase et la nitrogénase dans le métabolisme de l'hydrogène moléculaire sont discutées. Purple bacteria Rhodospirillum rubrum and Thiocapsa roseopersicina form two enzymes, hydrogenase and nitrogenase, which participate in hydrogen metabolism. H2 photoproduction in these bacteria is associated mainly or completely with the action of nitrogenase. The soluble and membrane-bound hydrogenases of T. roseopersicina have similar physicochemical properties (mol. weight, subunit composition, N-terminal amino acids, Fe2+ and S2− content, pl. Eo'). In comparison with other hydrogenases the enzyme from R. rubrum and T. roseopersicina evolve H2 with high rate from reduced cytochrome c3, but not from ferredoxins. H2 production and N2 fixation take place in the presence of NAD(P)H. NADP-reductase, ferredoxin and cytochrome c3 participate in this reaction. Possible relationships between hydrogenase-nitrogenase in the metabolism of molecular hydrogen are discussed." @default.
