- W2039656421 abstract "Ag-based composites of Agx(HgBa1.9Bi0.1Ca2Cu3O8+δ)1−x (x=0.1 and 0.2) superconductor were prepared by direct synthesis from the oxide powders. The structural and morphological properties were investigated. AC susceptibilities and DC magnetizations were measured using a SQUID magnetometer and a PPMS susceptometer. From the magnetic data, the critical temperatures are 131 K in both composites and the estimated superconducting volume reduces when Ag content increases. Ag-based composites show a sharp transition characteristic compared to the Pb-substituted Hg1223. Increase of Ag content induces a rather sharp transition in a real part of AC susceptibility curve and a weak increase of magnetization width at low temperatures. Critical current densities Jc estimated from the magnetization width and sample dimensions are 108 A/m2 at 20 K. Jc of the higher Ag content Hg1223 shows appreciably higher at low temperatures. Campbell penetration depths λ′0 estimated from the AC susceptibilities show a rapid increase near the critical temperature. The irreversibility field Birr is also estimated and shows higher values than those of Hg(Pb)1223 superconductors. Ag-addition tends to enhance the connectivity between the grains." @default.
