The symptoms had begun 2 months before our initial examination. There were no antecedent back or hip injuries. She denied back pain or problems with bowel or urinary bladder function. Medical history was remarkable for paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and chronic anemia.
