Hier wurde ein Verfahren entwickelt, dass es ermöglicht, TFE völlig chlorfrei über einen Plasmaprozess aus Perfluoralkanen herzustellen. Dafür wurde ein Plasma in einem Rohrreaktor erzeugt und charakterisiert. Es konnten hohe TFE-Ausbeuten erreicht und die Bildung von Nebenprodukten vermieden werden. Dies zeigt, dass eine vollständig chlorfrei TFE-Synthese auch im technischen bzw. industriellen Maßstab in Zukunft durchgeführt werden könnte. Tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) is the most important monomer for fluoropolymers. In the past, TFE was produced through a chemically difficult synthesis route and under high energy consumption. Therefore, a new chlorine-free process for producing TFE through a plasma-driven reaction in a plug flow tubular reactor, starting from perfluoroalkane, has been developed. A high TFE yield and no unwanted side products could be observed. This demonstrates that the new chlorine free process for TFE production could be industrially established in the future." @default.
