- W2041750800 abstract "We present results of a lattice analysis of the $B$ parameter ${B}_{B}$, the decay constant ${f}_{B}$, and several mass splittings using the static approximation. Results were obtained for 60 quenched gauge configurations computed at $ensuremath{beta}=6.2$ on a lattice size of ${24}^{3}$ifmmodetimeselsetexttimesfi{}48. Light quark propagators were calculated using the $O(a)$-improved Sheikholeslami-Wohlert action. We find ${B}_{B}^{mathrm{static}}({m}_{b})={0.69}_{ensuremath{-}4}^{+3}{(mathrm{stat})}_{ensuremath{-}1}^{+2}(mathrm{syst})$, corresponding to ${B}_{B}^{mathrm{static}}={1.02}_{ensuremath{-}6 ensuremath{-}2}^{+5 +3}$, ${f}_{B}^{mathrm{static}}={266}_{ensuremath{-}20 ensuremath{-}27}^{+18 +28}$ MeV, and $frac{{f}_{{B}_{s}}^{2}{B}_{{B}_{s}}}{{f}_{B}^{2}{B}_{B}}={1.34}_{ensuremath{-}8 ensuremath{-}3}^{+9 +5}$, where a variational fitting technique was used to extract ${f}_{B}^{mathrm{static}}$. For the mass splittings we obtain ${M}_{{B}_{s}}ensuremath{-}{M}_{{B}_{d}}={87}_{ensuremath{-}12 ensuremath{-}12}^{+15 +6}$ MeV, ${M}_{{ensuremath{Lambda}}_{b}}ensuremath{-}{M}_{{B}_{d}}={420}_{ensuremath{-}90 ensuremath{-}30}^{+100 +30}$ MeV, and ${M}_{{B}^{*}}^{2}ensuremath{-}{M}_{B}^{2}={0.281}_{ensuremath{-}16 ensuremath{-}37}^{+15 +40}$ Ge${mathrm{V}}^{2}$. We compare different smearing techniques intended to improve the signal/noise ratio. From a detailed assessment of systematic effects, we conclude that the main systematic uncertainties are associated with the renormalization constants relating a lattice matrix element to its continuum counterpart. The dependence of our findings on lattice artifacts is to be investigated in the future." @default.
