- W2043281482 abstract "2014 The optimization of solar cell parameters has been the subject of many papers : values corresponding to practical ranges for the internal parameters of a Si cell structure are considered ; the efficiency of the cell is related to these parameters through a diode model and a mathematical formulation leads to optimized parameters. This work is a modelling study that aims to determine the best parameter values in order to obtain the maximum efficiency : assuming a 100 mW.cm-2 incident light power, integrated over the whole spectrum and completely absorbed by the solar cell, it is shown that a 21 % efficiency may be obtained for a solar cell with an open-circuit voltage lower than 700 mV, a quality factor greater than one, provided that the diffusion current is minimized while the intensity of the recombination current is as high as 10-8 A.cm-2.
