- W2043661562 abstract "Abstract Suggestions that the electron acceptor, A1, in Photosystem I is a quinone have come from both optical and epr experiments. Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) is present in the PSI complex with a stoichiometry of two molecules per reaction center. In order to determine if A1 can be identified with vitamin K1, X-band and Q-band epr properties of the vitamin K1 radical anion in frozen alcohol solutions are examined. The results are compared to the epr properties that have been observed for the reduced A1 acceptor in vivo. The g-values obtained for the vitamin K1 radical anion are consistent with identifying A1 with vitamin K1." @default.
