- W2043828751 abstract "Consistent with previously reported reduction by lidocaine of cerebellar disfacilitation of spinal monosynaptic reflexes 11 , intravenous lidocaine markedly reduced cerebellar disfacilitation of neurons from the ventral portion of Deiters' nucleus in cats anesthetized with chloralose urethane. Lidocaine was less effective in depressing the activation of ventral Deiters' neurons by vestibular nerve stimulation. Lidocaine did not reduce cerebellar inhibition of fastigial neurons, nor did it antagonize cerebellar or GABA-induced inhibition of neurons from the dorsal portion of Deiters' nucleus. Lidocaine did depress the activity of dorsal Deiters' and fastigial neurons. These results indicate that lidocaine-induced reduction of both cerebellar disfacilitation of ventral Deiters' neurons and of spinal monosynaptic reflexes is mediated not by blocking of Purkinje inhibition, but by removal of the facilitatory background activity which is normally reduced by cerebellar stimulation." @default.
