- W2043907656 abstract "For the comparison of nominally equal resistors direct reading ratio sets are used, which are sometimes provided with an additional range of 10 in order to permit the comparison of resistors of the ratio 1: 10. These highly accurate instruments are very expensive. An unbalanced bridge is proposed instead, combined with a Lindeck element which permits the nulling of the bridge galvanometer. By substitution or by interchanging of the resistors to be compared the difference between two ammeter readings yields the relative deviation σ of the unknown from a known standard. For the ratio 1: 1 this deviation is given by σ = 4(ixSx - isSs/E1 where ix, is are the ammeter readings, Sx, Ss the shunt resistances used for range adaption and E1 the voltage of a constant voltage source. The errors were investigated and it was found that the accuracy and repeatability may be well within 10 parts per million (p.p.m.)" @default.
