- W2045113219 abstract "The isothermal overall crystallization rates of poly(trimethylene sulphide) fractions, ranging in molecular weight from 4000 to 47,000, have been analyzed using dilatometric and calorimetric techniques. The Avrami exponent is an integral number and is independent of temperature and molecular weight. The morphology has been studied by polarized light microscopy and small angle light scattering. Spherulites are formed after rapid crystallization and these forms deteriorate as both the molecular weight and crystallization temperature increase. The temperature coefficient of the crystallization has been studied and the overall rate and growth rate temperature coefficients are approximately the same. The glass transition for PTS is found to be 190 K. Moreover, the dependence of the melting temperature on the crystallization temperature has been analyzed and yields an equilibrium melting temperature of 363 K. The enthalpy of fusion, determined by the polymer-diluent method in m-cresol, was found to be 33.5 cal.g−1 (140 J.g−1)." @default.
