- W2045349766 abstract "The published data and results of the work of the authors related to the study of the features of the kinetics, mechanism and topochemistry of the processes of the formation of polymeric emulsions from vinyl monomers are systematized and discussed. Attention is focused on (co) polymerization of (meth) acrylates. The authors examine and analyse the dependences of the rate of the process, the number and size of the latex particles, the composition of the (co) polymer on temperature, the concentration of initiator and emulsifier and the nature of the monomers and their ratios in the reaction mixtures. The mechanism and topochemistry of the elementary reactions of generation, propagation and termination of the chain and also the formation of the latex particles are linked with the degree of solubility of the monomers in water, their intermixing and the influence of the aqueous phase. The reasons for the difference in the values of the copolymerization constant in emulsion and bulk (or solution) are discussed. The influence of oxygen on emulsion (co) polymerization and the possibilities of using the inhibition method for studying the kinetics and mechanism of the processes of formation of polymeric emulsions are reviewed." @default.
