- W2045822960 abstract "We examine the theoretical possibility of superconductivity in molecular crystals of the isohexaiminocryptand (IHIC), a molecule which has some properties in common with C{sub 60}. Using the standard BCS theory with electron-phonon coupling we compare the predictions for the critical temperature T{sub c} in the two cases. Our calculation shows that IHIC is likely to give rise to a larger value of T{sub c}. The origin of this difference is discussed together with possible extensions. A comparison is made with some recent experimental data which show some evidence for a T{sub c} of order 50 K in this material. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}" @default.
