- W2045905368 abstract "High redshift objects which are so close to low redshift galaxies that their proximity is ruled out as an accidental projection have been widely interpreted as gravitationally lensed background objects. The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) now offers the opportunity to examine with high resolution the regions between these quasars and galaxies in order to determine whether there is any evidence which would suggest an alternative interpretation. We analyze here the well known case of four quasar images which fall within 1 arcsec of the nucleus of the galaxy G2237 + 0305. HST exposures with both the wide field camera (WFC) and the faint object camera (FOC) are discussed." @default.
