- W2046770126 abstract "There is paucity of data whether hysteroscopic resection of the minimal uterine subseptum has an advantage on pregnancy and implantation rates prior to intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and embryo transfer (ET). We want to evaluate the impact of hysteroscopic uterine subseptum resection on pregnancy and implantation rates prior to ICSI-ET. Retrospective case-control study. A total of 100 patients with minimal uterine subseptum, undergoing their first ICSI and ET attempt, whom were all diagnosed and treated with office hysteroscopy (OH) were included. Of those 100 patients, uterine subseptum resected (OH-resected group) and none-resected group (No-OH resected group) consists of 35 (35%) and 65 (65%) cases, respectively. Minimal uterine subseptum is defined as a septum ≤1 cm. None of the included patients had had a history of prior uterine instrumentation or surgery. All patients had severe male factor infertility necessitating ICSI. Luteal-long leuprolide acetate and recombinant FSH were used for controlled ovarian hyperstimulation. Standard procedures were carried out for gamete handling, ICSI, embryo culture and day 3 ET was performed in all cases. Student’s t test, Mann Whitney U and Chi square tests were used for statistical analyses. The results are given in Table 1. Tabled 1 Although it did not reach statistical significance, the clinical pregnancy rate in OH-resected group seems to be lower when compared with No-OH resected group (30.6 vs. 43.8%, p>0.05). However, rather than having a positive impact, resection of minimal uterine subseptum may have a detrimental effect on pregnancy outcome prior to ICSI-ET." @default.
