- W2046789287 abstract "Abstract The spectrum of ultradian rhythms in man consists of three parts. In the long wave section it predominantly includes metabolic functions; in the medium wave section, the rhythmic functions of transport and distribution systems; and in the short wave section, the rhythmic functions of the information system. In addition, the medium wave section comprises the frequency ranges of locomotor, psychomotor and similar task involved as well as musical rhythms, respectively. The functional order of the ultradian rhythms is established by an internal phase and/or frequency coordination and differs among different sections of the overall spectrum; such as an increase in the strength of coordination is seen with increasing period duration, et al. In the state of complete adaptation the organism seems to prefer certain frequencies in the ultradian system (spontaneous rhythms). Under strain, however, different modes of response can be observed in the different sections of the spectrum. While in the short wave section the rhythmic functions react preferably by frequency modulations, multiple or submultiple periodicities become more or less prominent under stress (reactive periods) in the long wave component This is part of the coordinated time structure, as established by phase and whole‐number frequency coordination. Reactive periods may also be synchronized by the Stressor and dampened down with increasing compensation or improved adaptation, respectively." @default.
