Ca uptake by in vitra-grown potato (Solanum tuberosum L. cvs. Bintje and Norland) plantlets was investigated when Ca levels were maintained but the total macroelement salts or just NH4, the major competing cation, were reduced in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium. This increased the ratio of Ca:cations or Ca:NH4 as well as the osmotic potential of the medium. The increased Ca-cations improved Ca uptake of shoot tips, leaves, and stems while increased Ca:NH4 had no effect. MS medium macroelement dilution may improve Ca uptake by micropropagated plantlets and prevent Ca deficiency disorders. Verbesserung der Calcium-Aufnahme mikropropagierter Kartoffeln durch Reduzierung des Makroelementangebots Obwohl in Murashige-und-Skoog-Medium (MS-Medium) propagierte Pflänzchen oft Ca-Mangelsymptome zeigen, ist über die Aufnahme von Ca unter in vitro Bedingungen wenig bekannt. Deshalb wurde diese bei Kartoffeln (cv Bintje und Norland) untersucht, und zwar bei stets gleichem Ca-Angebot im Medium (3 mM) jedoch teils zusätzlichem Na-Angebot, teils halbiertem NH4− oder halbiertem Makroelement-Angebot im Medium. Letzteres bewirkte eine relative Zunahme von Ca gegenüber NH4 oder den Kationen wie auch eine Steigerung des osmotischen Potentials des Mediums. Das erhöhte Ca:Kationen-Verhältnis verbesserte die Ca-Aufnahme von Sproßspitzen, Blättern und Stengeln, während ein erhöhtes Ca:NH4−Verhältnis keinen Einfluß hatte. Eine Reduzierung der Makroelemente im MS-Medium kann folglich die Ca-Versorgung in mikropropagierten Pflänzchen verbessern und das Risiko von Ca-Mangeler- scheinungen mindern." @default.
