Concerning the importance of aromatic diamines in polyurethane chemistry some views of development are outlined. Especially 3.3′-dichloro-4.4′ -diamino-diphenylmethane, which is of technical interest is mentioned. It was found by animal experiments to be able to produce cancer. On the other hand the new diamines, containing estergroups, mainly derivates of diamino-benzoic and anthranilic acid are shown to be products of improved physiology, without cancerogenic effects. Some different methods of synthesis of ester containing polyamines, having low and high molecular weight are described and the properties of polyurethanes and polyareas produced with these new compounds are discussed." @default.
